I bought my Dakar in Nov 2007. It's my first real motorbike. I joined the club shortly after. I like to have fun, and am a perennial joker. I'm the first person to make inappropriate comments.

Currently getting ready to publish a coffee table book on winter travel in South Africa, which included some riding through ice and snow on a big road-trip around SA last year.

....back in the late 80's I've been riding a Honda XL 500, this was my everyday vehicle and my off-road toy back in Germany. After my studies I traded the scambler against an old Mercedes-Benz... Early in 2008 a friend borrowed me his VESPA (...of all 2 wheelers...!) while he was overseas and that is when I decided I need a motorbike again! Chris/CT

Hi All, the name is Nils. I started my 2 wheel career on a 100cc honda scooter, then a CBX 250cc honda, and now im a proud owner of a Dakar '05 model. Expect to see my twin on here soon.
This is my 2nd Dakkie. I bought it in Jhb abd drove it down to Cape Town over a weekend (16hrs driving time). The 1st one I had for 6 mths and had to sell for financial reasons (2010). I mostly commute from Somerset West to Cape Town every day and have done 25000km in the last 12 mths (on 1 set of Sahara Metzeler Tyres). Safety is critical to me but budget dictates everything. I love my wife and 2 sons (4 & 6yrs old).
Totally new to riding a bike. Married and have 2 sons. Live on the west coast
